Music tools — rhythm, tempo & pitch
Practice layered rhythms, set musical delay times or explore a pitch. These tools calculate and generate sound locally, without an account or microphone.
Polyrhythm metronome & visualizer
Hear two pulses over one shared cycle, step through the counting grid and mute either voice. Download a four-cycle WAV practice track.
Tap tempo & delay-time calculator
Type or tap quarter-note BPM, then find straight, dotted and triplet times in milliseconds, hertz and samples. Export a full reference CSV.
Note-frequency calculator
Convert notes and hertz with adjustable concert A. Read a signed cents offset, inspect neighboring notes and play a short reference tone.
Rhythm rate and pitch frequency are different
A 120 BPM quarter-note pulse repeats twice per second: 2 Hz. A 440 Hz pitched tone oscillates 440 times per second. The tempo tool describes musical spacing; the pitch tool describes audible oscillation. Each page explains its own reference convention.
Audio starts only when you choose Play. Keep device volume low initially, and keep the metronome page visible during practice. Browser/device latency can affect live timing. For other subjects, explore the learning simulations and visualizers.
