Workshop planning tools
Tally lumber, plan straight cuts and lay out evenly spaced pieces. Use one material and cross-section per cutting run; calculations run in your browser without an account.
- Board-foot calculator
Add mixed lumber sizes and prices. Keep base volume, extra reserve and estimated cost separate.
- Linear cut-list calculator
Plan square crosscuts from purchased boards and existing offcuts, including blade kerf and end trim. Download a board-by-board cut list.
- Equal-spacing calculator
Find clear gaps and marking positions for identical pieces. Choose equal end gaps or flush outer pieces, then send the count and piece length to the cut planner.
From layout to material list
Start with equal spacing when your project has repeated slats. Enter their cut length and send the pieces to the cut planner. After planning cuts, send the purchased stock count and length to the board-foot tally, then enter its billing thickness, width and price. Transfers stay in this browser tab’s session storage and load only when you choose.
Choose the right model
The cut planner works along a single length. It does not nest plywood panels, model angled cuts or assess grain, defects or strength. Board feet measure volume, not the number of usable pieces. Read each tool’s method and confirm actual stock dimensions before purchasing or cutting.
