Scrabble word-score calculator

Calculate one English Scrabble word with blanks, letter and word premiums, and new versus existing tiles. Check a seven-tile bonus and export the tile breakdown.

About the game and this companion

Scrabble scores every word formed by a turn. Use this calculator for one word at a time, then add crossing-word scores separately.

How scoring works

Apply letter premiums only to new tiles, sum letter values, then multiply by each newly covered word premium. Blanks remain zero. Existing tiles add their face value without reusing their premium square. An eligible seven-tile play adds 50 once for the whole turn.

Worked example

QUIZ has base score 22. Put a new Q on double letter for 32, then cover a new double-word square for 64. A blank used as Q contributes zero, even on a letter premium.

Scope and limits

English Scrabble tile values only; no dictionary or word-legality check. This is one-word arithmetic, not a board-move scorer. Calculate every crossing word separately and add the 50-point bonus only once per turn. Mark existing tiles correctly; at most seven new tiles can be played.

Inputs are calculated in this tab and are not saved by this tool. Editing inputs clears the previous result and disables exports until you calculate again. No account or remote table is required.
